Festivals & Events | | Event Highlight | | Gyeongju World Culture Expo Gyeongsangbuk-do, South Korea Sunday, July 10, 2011 The ‘Gyeongju World Culture Expo’ is a cultural exposition held in Gyeongju, a city with over a thousand years of history. Not only does this unique festival celebrate Korea’s cultural assets, but it is also an opportunity for representatives from other countries to come and share their dynamic heritages with the people of Korea. This year’s expo is themed ‘A tale of a thousand years: Love, light, and nature’ and will include special guests from 30 different countries. Over 100 cultural events will be presented throughout the two month expo period. The events are divided into four main categories: performance, exhibition, videos, and official ceremonies.
The Gyeongju World Culture Expo Park, the major event venue, is a cultural theme park that offers a place of relaxation rich in Korean culture. The main facilities of the expo park include ‘3-D Animation World,’ ‘Silla Culture History Pavilion,’ ‘World Cinematography Gallery,’ ‘World Fossil Museum,’ and ‘FunFun Challenge World.’
