Airlines Overview

Jetstar Airlines

A subsidiary of Qantas, Jetstar is an Australian low cost airline based in Melbourne with a regional operation based in Singapore known as Jetstar Asia which was rated the first low cost carrier in Asia in the 2006 Skytrax passenger survey. Jetstar serves 20 destinations across Australia plus 19 more in the Pacific Rim. In 2006 the airline expanded to North America with the introduction of nonstop service from Honolulu to both Sydney and Melbourne. The presence of a dedicated low cost carrier in the Hawaii-Australia market should keep fares to the South Pacific competitive for travelers originating in Hawaii as well as for those connecting from the mainland via Honolulu.
