Qantas Airlines

Qantas is the world's second oldest airline, started in 1920 under the name Queensland And Northern Territory Aerial Service. They are based in Sydney with hubs in Melbourne, Brisbane, Singapore, and London Heathrow. Qantas connects US travelers with nonstop flights between Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Honolulu to Sydney, as well as nonstop flights from Los Angeles to Auckland, Melbourne, and Brisbane. Qantas also operates 5 weekly direct flights from New York to Sydney via Los Angeles. The carrier is a founding member of the Oneworld Global alliance and its experience with long-haul flights has made it a leader in quality and service. In the 2006 SkyTrax World Airline Awards it came in 2nd place in the Airline of the Year category, as well as being named Best Transpacific Airline, Best Airline in Australasia, 4th place for Best Business Class, 2nd place for Best Cabin Staff in Australia/Pacific and 2nd place for Best Catering in Economy Class.
